Do you know Wabi-Sabi?
Not Wasabi(green horseradish paste) I am talking about LOL
Wabi expresses a way of being quietly clear and calm.
Sabi means having well seasoned, refined simplicity.
Wabi and sabi are the highest aesthetic values aimed at by traditional Japanese arts, particularly the tea ceremony and haiku.

Even in Japanese traditional crafts.
Nanbu tekki is one of them.
Looks very simple and calm.

Specially in Edo-preriod which is about 400years ago,
people are not aloud to have something flashy.
Maybe this is one of reason.

Even that rule people try to enjoy making fashionable items.
Currently,some people thinks Japanese traditional design is boring.
Specially young people in Japan thinks that.
Which is very sad.

Anyway I start to understand this wabi-sabi.
Maybe I am getting old LOL

People couldn't travel or move to other area without permission when in Edo period.
Thats why in Japan cultures,way of speaking,food,items are so diffrent even in small island.
Which is very good for us.
Its very interesting to know other areas information.

Even only ceramic dish or pot in Japan about 150 ways of making.
Its because different area.
From many items you can feel wabisabi.
