The fall season in Japan

Very hot summer has ended in Japan, and the fall has come.
Speaking of the fall in Japan, I can think several ways to enjoy though,
almost Japanese say they would like to enjoy some foods they can enjoy
just in fall. Several crops are harvested, and we can see them in many places.

Especially, I love Sanma (Pacific saury in English).
Sanma is served in autumn, usually.
If you go to the izakaya (which means Japanese-style bar),
I'm sure you'll see Sanma cuisine in your menu list.

Looks appetizing! XD
We usually eat it with grated daikon. Well, daikon is a Japanese white radish.
Of course, we cannot forget beer in the left hand!

By the way, do you know about Kanji?
It is a Chinese character used in Japanese writing.
Sanma has its kanji, of course.

In kanji: 秋刀魚
In hiragana: さんま
In English: Pacific saury

You can write Sanma "秋刀魚" in kanji, and this character "秋" means "fall",
and "魚" means "fish", and "刀" means "a sword (katana)".
We can eat them in fall, and Sanma's shape looks like a sword, so old Japanese
named it "秋刀魚". This is the origin of this kanji.

I'd like to tell you about wonderful fall in Japan much more.
I will do it next time! How about your country? Thanks.
